Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka expects attacking midfielder Gaston Ramirez to stay at the Riverside.
The 26-year-old has recently been linked with a move to champions Leicester City having scored nine goals in 35 games since arriving from Southampton twelve months ago.
“It’s just rumours. I can’t understand why he wouldn’t [still be at the club],” Karanka told BBC Tees. “He’s been an important player here in the last year, he’s really pleased to be here.”
Meanwhile, Boro may be about to re-sign striker Patrick Bamford from Chelsea, with talks already underway about a proposed £10m deal.
Bamford struck nineteen goals in 44 appearances during an earlier loan spell with the club.
