Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka was pleased with the attitude despite naturally disappointed by the single-goal defeat to Chelsea at the Riverside.
Striker Diego Costa’s late first-half winner proved sufficient to move the visitors top of the table and inflict a first loss in four games on their opponents.
“I can’t tell you I’m pleased with the result after we have lost the game,” Karanka told Boro’s official website. “But I am pleased with the attitude of my players.
“We are playing against a top-of-the-table team, so we knew it was going to be difficult,” he added. “But I do not have anything bad to say about my players. We played really well and in the last 20 minutes, at times Chelsea couldn’t leave their box.”
