Head coach Aitor Karanka remains confident following Middlesbrough’s weekend defeat to West Ham United.

Cristhian Stuani was on target for Boro in between a couple of first-half efforts from Andy Carroll, before substitute Jonathan Calleri added a late third goal for the visitors on the break.

“Today was great to watch but ended badly for us,” Karanka told Boro’s official website. “As a manager, I can’t be more proud of my players, they gave it everything.

“In the last moments, we our team and our style was broken up on the pitch,” he added. “But playing in the way we did for most of the afternoon, I am confident we will win games.”
