Middlesbrough have agreed a fee with Tottenham for 24 year old Egyptian striker Mido.
The fee is believed to be around £6 million and the deal is expected to go through by Thursday providing Mido passes a medical.
Birmingham had a bid accepted back in July for the striker are still showing interest a long with Sunderland, but it looks like Southgate may have won the battle for his signature.
Southgate told the official website ‘We have agreed a fee with Tottenham and that has enabled us to have him up to see us,”.
‘He’s currently in the process of having his medical and hopefully, if everything goes well, we’ll have some news in the next 36 hours.’
