Mido To Leave Boro

After only one season and three goals Mido could be off to Wigan after a strong interest in him and with him not denying any possible move away from the club he could move before the transfer dead-line closes at the end of the month.

Mido commented on the interest saying, ‘I was informed that Wigan want to sign me on loan, but they are yet to contact Middlesbrough,’ Mido told FilGoal.

‘Wigan coach Steve Bruce admires my abilities. He has tried to sign me when he was in charge of Birmingham, and now he has renewed his interest.’

Mido has admitted that a move to the Latics is very tempting.

Mido continued to state, ‘I will take my final decision next week after meeting Gareth Southgate’.

‘Southgate told me that he wants to keep me at The Riverside. I will talk with him to settle on the best choice.’

The Egyptian striker wants to play first-team football this season but is behind Alves and Tuncay at the moment.

‘I seek regular first-team football. Both clubs can offer me equal chances to play on a regular basis. Both of them have very good strikers also.’

‘But I’m sure I can force my way into the starting XI of any team once I regain full fitness.

Let’s hope that statement is true for us. There is no doubt he has quality, it’s just we need that quality for 90 minutes not half an hour because he’s not match fit.

Mido went on to say: ‘I may opt to stay at Middlesbrough for the sake of stability. I settled in there after spending a whole season with them.’

‘Anyway, I won’t close the door on a move to Wigan. I may end up joining them if they offered me more first-team football.’

Either way he may move and with the interest could we see him leave and another striker come in, but right now he is in the squad and looking forward to the Liverpool game away on Saturday 3:00pm.

After seeing todays lose and i know we were all over them it just shows that we still need mido or a striker, for me ali doesnt have that goal scoring ability but can get into so many good positions. Mido scored a cracker and although we were on top most of the game we just seemed to have the luck of the game against us at the end.

No chance he will end up at Wigan, more chance of Harry Redknapp staying out the bookies!
