No Transfer Activity At Middlesbrough

It has gone quiet on Teesside. The busiest day of the summer regarding transfers and there is no activity at the Riverside or Rockliffe Park today.

There were a couple of rumours in this mornings newspapers linking us with Derby County’s Rob Hulse and also with Sheffield United’s Matthew Kilgallon, but since those rumours were unearthed it appears we are not actively seeking any new players today – plus Newcastle are now interested in signing Kilgallon for £3million.

If we don’t get any new faces in today does that mean Gareth Southgate is happy with his squad or are the Boro boss’s hands tied?

With a bit of luck we might get a loan deal or two in the next few hours or maybe a couple of free transfers!

Have you got any Boro transfer gossip or rumours? Let us know!

i’m getting the same sense of doom as i did at the end of last January, i’m cheking skysports.com every 2 mins, still nothing, it’s vital we get players in, they have to be the right players though, i guess.

funny, because that’s not what we’ve been hearing at Rotherham – we hear our Nicky Law is having a medical with you today – though not sure how true this is

A deal was agreed for Hulse to move to Boro, Derby, in turn, had an agreement to replace him with Sam Vokes (loan deal) both deals collapsed, one as a result of the other. So i say why aren’t Boro signing Vokes on loan, he’s an excellent prospect, and already a good target man at Championship level, i’ve seen him play quite a bit for the national team.
