Middlesbrough should finally have striker Rudy Gestede back in their squad when facing Bristol City this weekend.
The 29-year-old former Aston Villa forward played the entire ninety minutes of the development side’s 3-3 draw with Southampton last Sunday.
“Rudy put his head in and won some important balls, and did well for one of the goals,” Boro’s Under-23s coach Paul Stephenson told the Northern Echo. “It was just very important for him to get that game time.”
Gestede has been sidelined with a thigh problem ever since Boro’s goalless draw with Preston North End back in August, having previously started four their opening five games this season.
