Gareth Southgate takes his young Middlesbrough squad to Anfield tomorrow with only one thing on his mind, a win.
The Boro boss witnessed his side create numerous chances last weekend against Spurs, which has given the team a massive boost ahead of the game tomorrow.
We all know how many superstars the Liverpool team has but our players won’t be overcome by this. I think that is why we do so well against the top four, our players are just not phased by the opposition, regardless of their pedigree.
I think the best battle across the park tomorrow will be between David Wheater and Torres.
The young Boro lad will have to be on his game if he wants to keep the Spaniard quiet. El Nino scored four past Middlesbrough last season. I’m sure Wheater will be determined nor to give him anything this season.
Another good battle tomorrow will be between Afonso Alves and Jamie Carragher. The Brazilian was in hot form last weekend despite not scoring and will be looking to open his goal scoring account against Liverpool.
My prediction for this game is a score draw. 2-2.
