Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka believed his side were fully deserved victors against Hull City on Monday evening.
Midfielder Gaston Ramirez scored the only goal of the contest on the hour to lift the Teessiders four points above the relegation zone after only their third league win of the campaign.
“We deserved to win, we had a lot of chances and all of the possession,” Karanka told BBC Sport. “We were confident on the pitch and once we went ahead we had the experience to manage the game.
“We have 15 points – we must keep going and working together,” he stressed. “We have to fight with the teams in the relegation positions because we are a newly promoted team. We have done nothing yet.”
