Middlesbrough head coach Aitor Karanka stressed how important it was to take your chances after the single-goal loss at Southampton.
Boro fell to Sofiane Boufal’s early second-half strike and currently have the worst record in front of goal in the Premier League with just thirteen in fifteen games.
“We did almost everything, I can’t say anything about the players,” Karanka told BBC Sport. “We kept working but in the Premier League you have to score your chances.
“We finished the first half well and I said we had to keep that intensity but they started the second half better than us,” he admitted. “We’re improving and growing, especially in defence.”
