The 20-year-old midfielder from Stockton-On-Tees will be facing his former club for the first time since his summer move to Wigan Athletic.

Everyone remembers that day when Boro lost 4-0 at home to Aston Villa and it was too much for young Lee, who was 18-years-old at the time, was seen crying at the end of the match.

Passion

Many fans had instant respect for the youngster after that game and hailed him as a future hero on Teesside. He had bags of passion with a good understanding of the game at such a young age.

Some Boro supporters believe he could have been a massive player for us if he was given the chance to have an extended run in the first team.

The opportunities soon faded with the arrival of Shawky, O’Neil and eventually Digard.

I have respect for Cattermole even more now because he knew he was not going to get a chance to play first team football regularly. Some players would quite happily sit on the bench for their home-town club and receive a good wage, but Cattermole has a passion for playing football. Fair play to the lad.

Apparently Cattermole is struggling to make the game due to an injury, but knowing the lad he will be fit in time for this one.

He will have a lot of friends and family watching this game. Not a time to disappoint.

Boro fans won’t mind if Lee has a good game just as long as Boro win. Good luck to Catts though!
