Middlesbrough have agreed a deal with winger Emilio Nsue from Real Mallorca, subject to international clearance.
Nsue, 24, capped by Equatorial Guinea though born in Spain, was expected to join the club on a three-year contract.
“He is a versatile player who I have known for five years,” head coach Aitor Karanka told Boro’s official website. “He is a good lad with a good mentality and approach to the game.
“I know the type of person he is, and that is important,” he added. “As a player he can play in different positions and I am delighted we have agreed a deal to sign him.”
He follows fellow newcomers Tomas Mejias and James Husband to the Riverside.
