It has been a mixed few days for Middlesbrough-based footballing results. Of course, the first team fought out a fantastic 2-2 draw with Manchester United on Sunday, with a double strike from Afonso Alves.
However, the youth team have also recently been in action too. They lost 2-0 at Everton, who secured their position in 2nd.
Goals from Jose Baxter and Danny Redmond condemned Boro to defeat.
Although it was slighly brighter news from the Middlesbrough Ladies’ side, who beat York City 2-1 to retain the North Riding Womens’ Cup.
Goals from Leanne Hawxwell and Nicky Duckling got the girls’ hands on the cup.

Congratulations to the girls 🙂
I’m sure that the youth players have potential, so I’m not too worried about their results.
Most of them are playing for the first team though.
