Middlesbrough have joined the race for veteran former Leeds United defender Ian Harte.
The 35-year-old is a free agent after coming to the end of his latest deal at Reading. He has also served Sunderland, Blackpool, Carlisle United and Spanish club Levante during his career.
AFC Bournemouth have already had an offer turned down for the vastly-experienced left-back with more than five hundred senior games to his credit.
Harte was waiting for the Cherries to return with an improved offer but Boro could now step in to claim his signature.
