Middlesbrough are amongst the clubs interested in Everton’s Republic of Ireland international winger Aiden McGeady.
However, the 31-year-old former Celtic playmaker is also being chased by Preston North End following a successful loan spell last season, in addition to Boro’s north-east rivals Sunderland.
But it is The Teessiders reportedly leading the race, according to the Liverpool Echo, although McGeady, who still has a year remaining on his existing Blues deal, would also seriously consider returning to Deepdale.
He originally moved to Goodison Park from Spartak Moscow for a small fee in January 2014.
