The Blackburn defender has had limited opportunities at Ewood Park and is rumoured to be looking to play first team football somewhere else. Southgate is reported to be holding talks with the Georgian. Possibility: 4/5
Sean St Ledger
The Preston stopper would be a great addition to Boro’s back four, but will the 24-year-old give up life in Preston for Teesside for a few months? Southgate would be keen on St Ledger as a loan move initially with an option for a permanent deal in January. Possibility: 2/5
Gareth McAuley
The Northern Ireland international clashed with Roy Keane and has now been put on the transfer list, which is good news for the want-away defender – but will Southgate persuade the 29-year-old to move to Middlesbrough. Possibility 3/5
Heidar Helguson
The QPR striker might be on his way to the Riverside after Southgate showed interest in the 32-year-old on the last day of the summer transfer window. He could be a good experienced addition to the forward line at Boro. Possibility 3/5
James Vaughan
The Everton youngster is looking for first team football so a move to Middlesbrough for a few months would be a great chance for the 21-year-old to get some games and hopefully some goals. Possibility 3/5

Vladimir Weiss is a great prospect at Man City, love to see him come in on loan.
