Middlesbrough had a move for West Bromwich Albion midfielder Graham Dorrans fall through on deadline day.
The Scottish international was ready to switch to the Riverside after travelling on Friday but talks failed to reach a close.
Dorrans had apparently settled on terms with Boro but an agreement couldn’t be reached between the two clubs.
The 26-year-old could though still join the Teessiders when the loan window opens next month.
