The draw took place last night for the 2nd round of the Carling Cup and Boro have been handed a home tie versus Yeovil Town.

Yeovil have a reputation of being giant killers over the years and beat Charlton away in the previous round. This will be the first time ever that the 2 teams have met and Boro will be out to avoid a potential upset. After all, we dont want a repeat of Notts County at home 2 seasons ago.

The ties will be played during the week commencing Monday 25th August.

Draw in Full:

Ipswich v Colchester
Coventry v Newcastle
Hartlepool v West Brom
West Ham v Macclesfield
Huddersfield v Sheff Utd
Cardiff v MK Dons
Swansea v Hull
Rotherham v Wolverhampton
Brighton v Man City
Reading v Luton
Blackburn v Grimsby
Wigan v Notts County
Leeds v Crystal Palace
Crewe v Bristol City
Boro v Yeovil
Fulham v Leicester
QPR v Carlisle
Nottm Forest v Sunderland

It looks to be a really good game and if we dont act like typical boro then we should fly through it, we did well against darlington and they are a weak side so it should be a easy game, and with it being at home i hope we get at least 25,000 i know its only our second round but i think we need to have as many people as we can at the games. Ill certainly be there.

FFS you are at home against mighty Yeovil, you dont sound too confident, should p**s it in.

  • TheSlaven says:

We’ll beat them and then get a dodgy trip to the lane and get beat 2-0 again.

  • LukeLaville says:

Dodgy alright i mean i know after replys it was on side but every1 who was there seen it as offside unless that refree has unbelievable vision which i doubt then he done it cause spurs paid him.

the one thing we have going for is is this is a BIG competition for us and our best chance of success. United may well look at this as an annoyance getting in the way of all their other tournaments.
this may be a Boro xi gainst a Man U second xi so we may stand a better chance than say, being drawn away to Villa or Everton.
