Didier Digard has finally completed his £4m move from PSG to the Boro. The deal is the 2nd of the day with Boro having already brought in Marvin Emnes from Sparta Rotterdam.

Earlier today, both Setanta Sports and Vital Boro reported that this would happen tonight and after what seems forever the deal has finally been done.

France Under-21 holding midfielder Digard has been a long term target for Boro boss Gareth Southgate, and personal terms were agreed a number of weeks back. Howeve, the transfer fee agreed betweent he clubs proved a major stumbling block – leading Digard to publicly criticise PSG. This then lead to him being suspended by the club only a matter of days ago but im sure he will care little about that, now he has signed.

He made 88 league appearances both for PSG and Le Harve before signing a 4 year deal on Teesside.

Speaking to www.mfc.co.uk Gareth Southgate had this to say about the deal, ‘I’m very pleased that we have been able to bring Didier into the club. As with Emnes, he is another exciting young talent who fits the profile of young, hungy and ambitious players we want here.’

‘Didier has played for France at every level up to under-21 and will really add to the competitive nature of the squad. He is a holding midfielder, who is a good athlete and a strong tackler. We’ve had our eye on him for quite a long time as we had looked at him and been impressed when watching him play for PSG and the French National sides.’

Big well done to all concerned for bringing Didier and Marvin in today. With Keith Lamb previously saying that 2 or 3 players will arrive before July 7th they have certainly kept to their word, hopefully more additions will follow – whether that be before or after the team returns for pre season training.

But, where now for George?
