Middlesbrough striker Marvin Emnes insists he is perfectly happy with life and focusing his efforts on simply playing football.

The 25-year-old had an indifferent time last time around with only half-a-dozen goals from his 28 appearances. That followed eighteen the previous season.

But he has since overcome personal issues and marked his first goal of the new campaign after appearing as a substitute against Blackpool at the weekend.

“People all say that last season I wasn’t the same player because I had a lot on my mind,” Emnes told the Evening Gazette. “I didn’t play a lot but that is down to the manager.

“I’m sick of that talk now because very time I see people they ask me if I am OK, if I have problems. I don’t,” he continued. “I just want to say I’m OK, I’m happy and I want to play football.”
