Released Middlesbrough defender Stuart Parnaby has joined neighbours Hartlepool United.
The 31-year-old managed just three appearances last season under head coach Aitor Karanka in his second spell for the club.
He already knows Pools boss Colin Cooper from his time at the Riverside while recent Hartlepool signing Matthew Bates is a former team-mate.
Parnaby has also spent time with Birmingham City during his career and is an ex-England Under-21 international with four caps.
