Tony Mowbray praised his Middlesbrough front duo following the weekend victory against French cup winners Bordeaux.

Marvin Emnes scored twice ahead of a late reply for the visitors but strike partner Lukas Jutkiewicz also drew plenty of praise from his manager.

“Our front two did a fantastic job and yet that’s an area we definitely have to strengthen,” Mowbray told Boro’s official website. “But they will have to be some players to displace Emnes and Jutkiewicz, Emnes scored two goals and Juke terrorising them for long spells in the first half.

“I enjoyed the game, it was a good workout,” he continued. “It’s good to win your final pre-season game and it will give us some confidence going into next weekend.”
