Middlesbrough chairman Steve Gibson is confident that Gordon Strachan is the right man to lead the club back to glory.
Gibson reckons that Boro supporters can really look forward to the future despite their relegation from the Premier League at the end of last season.
“We can look forward once again with real optimism,” he told the Northern Echo. “In fact, there is absolutely no reason why we can`t repeat our successes of the past decade or so.”
He continued: “I have been greatly impressed by the way Gordon has gone about transforming the way the team train, live and prepare for games. I think we have already seen that he is building a team full of steely resolve with players who are committed to working their socks off to achieve their aims.
“I know Gordon has the knowledge, experience and calm determination that I firmly believe will ensure brighter times are ahead.”
Gibson was also, as ever, quick to reaffirm his own loyalty to the club: “I won`t walk away from Middlesbrough Football Club.
“As we look forward, let me assure you that my commitment to Middlesbrough Football Club remains as strong as ever,” he added.
