Middlesbrough are straight back in action when hosting champions Leicester City on Monday (kick-off 12.30pm).

Defender Antonio Barragan is available for a recall after serving his one-match suspension in the late weekend defeat at Manchester United.

Midfielder Gaston Ramirez could also earn a starting place for the hosts having come off the bench during that game.

Otherwise, Danish winger Viktor Fischer is struggling with a knee injury.

“Now is the most important game in the season because it is against a direct opponent,” head coach Aitor Karanka told BBC Sport. “All this season these are the kind of games we have to win.

“We are playing at home and always I say if we are playing this way we will win games against our opponents like we did against Swansea, against Hull, against Bournemouth.”

Leicester are still without striker Jamie Vardy due to a three-game ban, while Islam Slimani and Riyad Mahrez are available for their final game before the Africa Cup of Nations.
