Middlesbrough midfielder Richie Smallwood is keen to follow the example of senior colleague Grant Leadbitter.
The 22-year-old is still trying to properly establish himself under Tony Mowbray’s leadership at the Riverside and remains keen to learn from his experienced team-mate.
“Grant has been one of the best players this season and is in my position so I just keep learning from him,” Smallwood told the
Northern Echo. “He’s played in the Premier League and you see him every day in training and he’s a class midfielder. I’m only young so I’ll keep learning from him.”
Smallwood has made nineteen appearances for Boro so far this season while scoring three goals.
