Middlesbrough boss Garry Monk said he was frustrated by the 2-2 draw at Barnsley.

However, the visitors were twice forced to come from behind after conceding two goals inside the opening ten minutes, including an own-goal by Ashley Fletcher against his former club.

Cameron McGeehan also scored on his home debut for the South Yorkshire outfit, with Martin Braithwaite and Britt Assombalonga replying.

“We’re frustrated with the result,” Monk told BBC Sport. “It was a frantic opening from both teams but it’s hard for me to be critical, especially about the first goal.

“After the first 10 or 15 minutes we had a bit more urgency but the difference today is that we haven’t been clinical enough. We had good chances and we didn’t take them,” he admitted. “We all feel frustrated but if we continue to play as we did in the majority of the game then we’ll win more than we lose.”
