So, fans have spoken about who they would have in goal for their Riverside Dream Team.

Out of the 5 choices, Gary Walsh and Andy Dibble never received a single vote.

Ben Roberts, the 43 second non-wonder, received 3% of the votes but i have a sneaky feeling that they came from a Chelsea fan……..the pain of that F.A. Cup Final will live long in the memory for Boro fans.

In 2nd place came Mark Crossley with 24%. The former Welsh international made 23 appearances for the Boro during his spell on Teesside (2000-20003). He had a run of games covering for the injured Mark Schwarzer before he himslef picked up an injury at Anfield.

Predictably, Mark Schwarzer topped the poll with 72%. The big Aussie was at the Boro for seeing of numerous other keepers who were challenging for the number 1 shirt. However, on Teesside peoples views differ about Schwarzer with some thinking he was good for the club and others (probably most) questioning his ability for alot of those 11 years. His best moment in a Boro shirt was no doubt the penalty save against Robbie Fowler at the City of Manchester Stadium. That save clinced a UEFA Cup spot ahead of Man City the following season.

The poll to find the first of 2 centre backs is now open so get voting!

Riverside Dream Team:

1. Mark Schwarzer (1997-2008)
