Middlesbrough striker Lukas Jutkiewicz says it’s very important that everyone remains positive at the Riverside.

But that could prove a real challenge for their supporters after Boro slipped to ninth in the table after losing their ninth of a dozen league games since the turn of the year at the weekend.

“Seven points from a possible 36 is not good enough from any of us,” Jutkiewicz conceded to BBC Tees. “The only way to be in this industry is positive, anything other than that is not going to change anything.

“You allow yourself a day or two to dwell on the result and then move onto the next one,” he continued. “We have to make sure as individuals and as a team we’re doing the right things. The manager said this week we’re not cutting corners, if we’re not successful it won’t be a lack of trying or covering all areas.”

Struggling Boro are next in action when hosting Birmingham City this weekend.
