Middlesbrough are to sign Enrique ‘Kike’ García from Real Murcia subject to receiving clearance and a successful medical.
The 24-year-old striker was expected to complete a £2.7m deal in time to join the Teessiders in Marbella next week.
Former Spain Under-20 international Garcia netted 23 times last season and totals 48 goals in 150 Spanish league games.
Boro have already signed his compatriot goalkeeper Tomas Mejias and are still targeting a right-back and central midfielder.
