Middlesbrough striker Kei Kamara’s future looks in doubt after accusing the club of not supporting him during a recent bout of malaria.
The 29-year-old revealed via his social media page that he had been struck down with the potentially life-threatening disease for a week. He also claimed neither Boro nor his national association provided him with any support.
“Now I am feeling better it’s time to say: ‘Thank you MFC & SLFA for doing NOTHING’,” he wrote. “Am Bless this happen in Kansas were folks care for me.”
Kamara has experienced a mixed time since arriving on Teesside last September, scoring four times in seven starts before injuries ruled him out – and then later falling out of favour under new head coach Aitor Karanka.
