I remember hearing Southgate say he needs to have room in the squad before purchasing more players meaning that players like Robert Huth, Afonso Alves and Tuncay would have to be sold first before replacements are brought in.
Does this mean that Danny Webber is being lined up as a replacement for Tuncay? I’m sure we are all hoping that Southgate has more than this up his sleeve. Maybe Webber is a replacement for Alves, which would make more sense – both Championship players.
Reports this morning suggest that we will be selling Tuncay for £7million. Are we mad? He is surely worth more than that. He is the Turkish captain.
We could be in for a mad few days. Oh and there is a game against Bristol City to get on with as well. Hold on tight!

one report is even linking Tuncay to Birmingham City for £5m … surely not?
Please make that rumour go away! Just heard that some Stock Market ruling won’t let B’Ham make an offer.. phew for Tuncay’s sake.
£11 million for Huth AND tuncay got to hand it to the Boro board eh! can’t put one over them, they drive a real hard bargain. No doubt Southgate will take the stick from the fans while Gibson and Lamb say nothing as usual. Wonder just how much cash will the puppetmasters dole out to the puppet to spend on new players?
