Gareth Southgate will leave behind a long list of players for the trip to Oldham tomorrow.
The players that will not make the trip are Afonso Alves, Brad Jones, Jeremie Aliadiere, Didier Digard, Jonathan Grounds, Tuncay, Matthew Bates and Marvin Emnes. All are recovering from injury.
That leaves Southgate with a squad of very inexperienced players to choose from.
Although the side will be dominated by U25’s tomorrow, the Boro backbone should be experienced enough to ease them to victory tomorrow evening.
Danny Coyne has been given the green light to start in goal and is likely to have an experienced defence in front of him. We should expect to see Wheater and Huth at the heart of the defence with Arca and O’Neil combining in the middle of the midfield leaving Yeates and Franks to get the goals up front.
It should be an interesting test for the lads tomorrow night. Let’s hope the defence and goalkeeper can continue their impressive form of not conceding any goals in the pre-season friendlies.
