Will Tuncay Be Tempted By Germany Move?

The morning newspapers suggest that Stuttgart are ready to match our asking price of £9million for the Turkish captain.

If the reports are true, then we could see the interest in England hot up slightly in the next few days. We already know that Everton, Villa and Spurs have been interested in Tuncay all summer, but their estimations of the Boro star have fallen very short.

Now that Stuttgart are involved we could see some respectable bids from the Premiership clubs. This is good news for us because only a couple of weeks ago we were struggling to get interest for both Downing and Tuncay.

Because we are now in the Championship clubs in the top flight have tried to play the ‘relegated player card’ and offered us half the money for top players.

Everton’s rumoured offer of £5million for Tuncay a few weeks back sounds ridiculous when you compare that Hull City are ready to bid the same amount for Bobby Zamora.

With Tuncay nearing the exit with a potential £9million price tag, it looks like Gibbo and Lamb will have done their bit over the summer to balance the books. If we get £3million for Mido, then we would be banking just over £20million for three players. Not bad for a Championship side.

I reckon whatever we get for Tuncay will be a good bit of business considering we got him on a free. It will be sad to see him go and hard to replace a player of his quality. I could see him at Stuttgart because they sold one of their key forwards, who’s name escapes me, to Bayern and have money to splash. They were looking at getting in Klass Jan Huntelaar until the move broke down, but it shows the kind of financial muscle they have to flex. There are a lot of Turkish players in the Bundesliga too.

Having said that he would most certainly fit Everton’s work ethic in the way he plays. I think Hull are a bit *****ed valuing Zamora at £5 mill. He was said to have tonnes of potential when he was at Brighton, but in all honesty what has he done?

Villa may be off the cards as they look to hijack Sunderland’s bid for Darren Bent. But you never know in football these days!

All I can say is that Tuncay has been a great ambassador and credit to the club since he signed despite the fact we’ve ended up where we are. I think it may be time for Huth, Aliadiere, Alvez and Arca to get on their bikes too, free up the wage bill and get these hot talents we have in the youth set up into the squad.

hiya guys i’m back AGAIN!!!! and what a time to come back ey!? glad to see the site’s running well. as for the story above i couldn’t agree more with mikkel beck on his comment obefemi martins has tipped the bundesliga to be the league to watch this year so who knows i would be happy to see tuncay stay in england, expecting him to play in the championship would be unfair as he is an excellent player and deserves more but if we can make a decent return on him then it would be for the best

Will be gutted when he goes, even though i know he has to leave. Agreeing with Beck i think Stuttgart would be good destination for him as replacment for Mario Gomez. The german leagues very entertaining and underated. They have the best attendences in europe dont they?! Good luck Tunc!

  • boros_finest says:

attendences i’, not sure of but there league is ranked 6th in the most watched league in the world, top being prem, 2nd is the spanish prem and 3rd in the english championship
