Striker Patrick Bamford’s injury fortunately wasn’t as bad as initially feared having been carried off against Bristol City at the weekend.

There had been a delay for over ten minutes during the opening half at the Riverside while the 24-year-old marksman was fitted with a brace around his neck and administered with oxygen. He was then taken to hospital.

However, Bamford was back joking with his team-mates after the game, and the early suggestions were that he could be fit for the weekend visit to Derby County, according to the Evening Gazette. He has already scored twelve goals in 43 games for Boro so far this season.

The former England Under-21 international also later reassured his followers on social media site Twitter, while praising the Boro medical staff and both sets of players for their help during his ordeal.
