Midfielder Adam Forshaw is the latest player to sign a new deal at Middlesbrough and couldn’t be more delighted.

The 24-year-old has scored twice in 56 appearances since joining the Teessiders from Wigan Athletic in January 2015. He’s now set to remain with them until 2020.

“I’m delighted. I’ve enjoyed my time at the club since I’ve been here,” Forshaw told Boro’s official website. “My teammates, the staff, the fans, everyone around the area has been really supportive.

“It was a bit of a no-brainer when the contract came up,” he added. “Fortunately, we’ve got it done early in the season, so I can put it to one side and concentrate on the games.”

Defensive trio Ben Gibson, George Friend and Daniel Ayala have all recently signed new long-term deals at the Riverside.
