Midfielder Grant Leadbitter is demanding improvement in Middlesbrough’s next pre-season game.
Head coach Aitor Karanka criticised the lack of fight in the recent disappointing 1-0 defeat to Spanish third division outfit Lucena in Marbella.
Boro next take on Real Balompedica Linense in their latest outing tomorrow morning (10.00am UK).
“It was a tough game and they made it physical, which is unlike a Spanish team,” Leadbitter told the Evening Gazette. “It was disappointing to lose the game but the positive thing was we got 45 minutes each.
“Now we need to instil a winning mentality in the group, we need to start doing that,” he added. “We’ve got another game on Saturday and we’ll have to win that.”
