Middlesbrough midfielder Jozsef Varga is already doubtful with a hip injury for the weekend visit to Ipswich Town.
The 25-year-old missed Hungary’s 5-1 victory over Estonia last night after being substituted during the World Cup qualifier against Romania on Friday.
Ever-present Varga’s injury is to be assessed on his return to Rockliffe Park. He joined Boro on a season-long loan from Hungarian outfit Debrecen over the summer.
However, new signing Jacob Butterfield is likely to receive a debut, while fellow newcomer Kei Kamara could also be involved subject to clearance at Portman Road.
